- To foster attitudes toward learning; to have a sincere interest and
liking for school, and to develop the knowledge, skills, and learning techniques necessary for higher education and occupational
competence; to acquire the skills to work independently and cooperatively.
- To provide opportunities for developing various means of communication
and expression through the language arts and the creative arts.
- To develop listening and comprehension skills.
- To develop self-control, and encourage the acceptance of responsibility
for one's actions.
- To develop a level of independence appropriate for the child to make
decisions and choices, to think for him/herself, and to stand up for his/her convictions under pressure.
- To help the child grow in his or her knowledge and love for God and
his Word, and to learn to seek the Lord's plan for his/her life by walking closer to Him daily in an ever-deepening commitment.
- To assist the child in developing a positive self-concept in relation
to himself and others; to care for the souls and human welfare of others, and to learn how to relate to non-Christians and
to Christians who hold differing views.
- To understand Biblical standards of morality and ethics as absolute
truth, not as relative truth. They are presented as God's standards for our good in this present life.
- To understand God's plan in prayer in our lives-it's power and purpose-and
to become comfortable with praying and to look forward to time spent in prayer.
